Meet the Consultant

Dan Smith is the principal consultant with  over 25 years of field experience in fire services and emergency management.  His experience spreads across private industry, nuclear fire response and municipal fire services.  He has served in volunteer, composite and fulltime fire departments, the last 16 years of which as a Chief Officer.  Within emergency management, Dan has developed programs in both the private industry and in municipal communities.  

Dan is an experienced incident commander in both complex fire events and within the EOC.  He has experience with disasters that cross jurisdictional lines, involve multi-agency response, unified command structures and  emergencies garnering public interest.

He is a member of the Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs, Ontario Association of Fire Chiefs, International Association of Emergency Managers, CSA N293/N393 Committee Member, and a PAC member of the Loyalist College Pre-Service Firefighter Certification program.
